I cannot download thunderbird. I already donated money and the donate screen keeps blocking my install. I CAN NO LONGER RECEIVE EMAIL SO YOU WILL NEED TO TEXT YOUR REPLY TO 603-339-1725

I tried to use Thunderbird today,.. to find the interface was broken, menus were blank, so no ability to look at anything., and error message inferring there was a menu config issue was all that was shown. I duly removed Thunderbird as a snap install, which took a long time as it seemed to be making a backup to somewhere. I then reinstalled Thunderbird 128.11.0esr (64-bit) on my ubuntu 24.04,.. having setup the isp email credentials,.. all seemed fine,.. I then proceeded to import what I assumed was my old local folders... And this is where things went wrong, as I seem to have lost all my archived 2025 emails,.. I say somewhere,.. as I don't seem to be able to find them, I have used the 'find' command to locate anything with 2025 in the file name,.. but without success. At the moment I have a multi-structured 'local folder' entry, but nothing with 2025 in? I anyone able to shed some light on what I may have done wrong Many tx

When I clicked onto one of my gmail accounts, it did a "somersault", and shut down Thunderbird. Email is: vk4cmr@gmail.com Mark Chad Chatfield That was about 2.5 weeks ago. Tried almost everyday to work this out, Zilch. The email address in fault, is on 3 computers. 2 are still operational, But my Main Use computer will NOT go past the required credential check. Have deleted all reference to that email address and tried reinstalling back into Thunderbird, to NO avail. It still works on the sub-computer systems. I cannot find any relevant help files on yr Knowledge Base remotely connected to this problem. Please advise TIA. Mark

The 13x version appears to have introduced a bug.

When pasting links into emails, and then "inserting" the link, if you try to add any advanced options to the link (i.e. target=_blank), it doesn't create the link.

If you simply "insert" the link without setting any advanced options, then the link is created.

This started for me today on Thunderbird for Linux Mint 128.10.2esr.

I have searched this and found others have had this problem off and on since 2019 or before.

I have not found a useful solution.

So, what changed?

How to return to the previous functionality which was just fine for my needs?

After calendar notifications popped up and were closed/dismissed, the empty notification window remains open.

It should close when the last open notification is closed.

I tried to delete the cash.sqlite files and a troubleshoot-mode restart but that did not change anything.

WIndows 10, Thunderbird 128.11

I have added a certificate to the Thunderbird Certificate Manager (localcert.png), with the info as shown in certdetails.png. However, Thunderbird is not sending the certificate. I have "When a server requests my personal certificate" set to "Ask me every time". I also tried choosing "Select one automatically" but that did not change the result.

However, my mail server, which uses TLS client certificates as one factor in sender authentication says: May 27 02:00:05 Mercury2 smtpd[9850]: b972fe936721dfe0 smtp disconnected reason="io-error: handshake failed: error:0A0000C7:SSL routines::peer did not return a certificate"

What am I doing wrong in the config that is causing Thunderbird to not send the certificate?

I got a new PC with Windows 11. I installed Thunderbird 136.0.1 , activated the private calendar, and entered events there. For events with a reminder that have a specific duration (e.g., Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM), I receive notifications. However, when I create a full-day event and want to be reminded, for example, 1 day before, I don't receive any notification. Additionally, events with a reminder are not shown in bold in the calendar overview (whether they have a specific duration or are all-day events). Can you please help me?

Yesterday and today has just been a nightmare. But I'm slowly getting things back up and connected after Hostway absorbed my hosting company (HostMySite) and migrated everything to their servers, but forgetting to send me the new login info until after they had terminated my old e-mail servers. And then it just got worse.

I am using Thunderbird 102.15.1 64-bit on a M1 mac. Do not tell me to upgrade. I did, once, and revised search functionality literally had me spending 3 days to manually revert my entire database back to work with 102.15.1. New version - bad. No.

The thing I need help with is that, as I reconnect my e-mails to Hostway's servers, I can get e-mails, but the collected Inbox does not show anything new. When I select a specific account within the collected Inbox, it'll have 10 new e-mails, but the collected Inbox- nothing new.

Same with all the collected folders, Drafts, Sent, Junk, trash, etc.

How doI get the collected folders to work again?

In Thunderbird, when I hit "get messages" it replies"Enter your password" Now, without my changing anything, it no longer recognizes the p/w. When I repeat, it replies"....too many commands before authf7mb153666557ooe". I'm using the same configuration i have always used: pop.gmail, SSL/TLS, normal password. I have tried changing this config within the limits of what Thunderbird Account setting offer but to no avail. Also tried on gmail security settings "allow less secure app access" - also no result

Several years ago, I switched over to the beta path of Thunderbird... In doing so, I created a new profile for the beta installation, leaving the old one behind in case I wanted to abandon beta... So I had two profile folders; I *thought* they were this:

current profile: c:\notes\Thunderbird original backup profile: c:\notes\Thunderbird.b115

Now, I've decided that there is no reason to retain the old Thunderbird profile folder, since I'm clearly committed to the beta path... however, I have discovered an anomaly... *both* the old and new profiles are periodically being updated!! Thunderbird.b115 is apparently actually my active profile, but Thunderbird was updated just a few days ago.

When I look at About Profiles, I actually see *three* profile folders listed:

Profile: Gorlash: (default: no) c:\notes\Thunderbird

Profile: Derell Licht beta: (default: no) c:\notes\Thunderbird

Profile: Thunderbird beta (default: no) c:\notes\Thunderbird.beta (note that this folder does not exist)

Profile: Thunderbird b115: (default: yes) c:\notes\Thunderbird.b115

Is there something that I could do to consolidate all of this into just one folder? I don't even *know* what those Gorlash and Derell Licht profiles refer to... Yes, those are both usernames that I use online, in various contexts, but as far as I know, I don't use them in Thunderbird...

Q1: Can I just delete those other profiles where default is NO ?? Q2: Why is c:\notes\Thunderbird still getting periodic updates, even though those profiles are not default??

I'm running TB128 under Windows 11. I had a boot problem, restored a recent image, and now, when I attempt to launch TB, I get the error below, telling me that a newer version of TB may have made changes to my profile, and that I'm running an incompatible, older version of TB. I've experimented with this situation until my fingers are bleeding, but can't open TB using my newly restored profile.

yes, so the title gives the question.

when I start the thunderbird app on windows 10 laptop it starts to fetch 2000+ emails from google. Everytime even after letting it go through the process.

Its super slow and always reports its stuck at 2 out of 2000+ emails. Very strange.

I have let it run for 24 hours+ on one occation to get everything loaded. The loading status bar disappeared but it restarts everytime I open the app again.

Any idea why?

This app comes with lots and lots of updates, and every time I have to delete the old start icon on the task bar and re-pin it. Please, fix it so that I never have to do that again. There is no other software at all including Mozilla Firefox that does this to me.

I used to use Mailspring and loved it's combined inbox. Incoming messages for both of my email accounts would show in a combined inbox. I like Thunderbird and wish it had a combined inbox.Do we think it will ever happen?

When I compose a message in Thunderbird the text runs off the right edge of the screen. If I keep typing blind eventually the text will wrap but some text will still not be visible.

Is there a way to set Thunderbird to recognize the width of my monitor (slightly narrower than standard) or some other remedy?

After I finish I can zoom out and see what was hidden but of I type at that level of zoom the same thing will happen again.

I open TB and everything is fine = about 6 accounts. At some point, all accounts stop showing emails in the right pane. The navigation pane still shows the email count in each account and folder. A message in the right pane says there is no emails to show. The only way to get it back is to close TB and restart it. What is happening and how to fix it????????? W11, TB 1.38.0.0 x64
